Human beings have been, and still are, suspicious and paranoid about anything that is on the edge of the unknown. It seems to be in our nature.
Agent K: A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you’ll know tomorrow.
We don’t really know anything about how mutants breed—-their post-mutation appearance could just be physical deformity, and they remain genetically human no matter what their appearance. (How their recently-discovered ability to heal real fast plays into this, I can’t say.)#I’d speculate more about their, er, “compatibility,” but I fear what I say would veer right into R-rated or even X-rated territory.
I’ve often assumed that the fetus in a mutant’s womb started out human, was infected with the mutagen (virus or whatever) and mutated into its anthro form. I’m taking that from a comment Cooper made in the “Ground Rules” story arc about all mutating into anthros while unconscious, how it happens in the womb and all newborns being anthros. http://endtown.sherri-alexander.com/comic/endtown-08-10-2011/I extrapolated my opinion about infants starting out human from this. I may be wrong, or I may not be.
I notice these “Robed Ones” have a pretty elaborate hideout, with a door that, it looks like, can’t be seen when it’s closed. Protection from Topsider raids? (Thought the Topsiders hadn’t gotten this far.)
With a few hours left before the next installment, I can hardly wait to see what’s next. Alas, I must go to bed first and find out in the early hours of the AM. The responsibilities of my job preclude my enjoyment of this series (and all the other ones on gocomics). Except on Thursday night, I don’t work Fridays, so I can stay up and see what happens Friday on Thursday night.CUL, friends.

And that bonk on the head we gave the cat? That’s just how we say “hi!”..

Well, that was a no-surprise. The only unexpected bit was them saying it wasn’t a robbery.
Sure is the most violent non-robbery I’ve heard of.

It just that the end of the month is coming up soon and they’re behind on their sales quota. “Now, if you would just step into our showroom…” ;-)

If they’re not being robbed, does that mean they’ll get all their stuff back? Including Clive?

Not many lizards have elliptical pupils. Not only a lizard, but the same type as Sarah.

They knew Sarah’s name, does that mean these robed people knew Jim and Sarah before they mutated?

They’re not being robbed, they’re being forced to trade at gunpoint. “Shut up and take our money!”

When Linda roamed around Endtown early in her sojourn of sorrow, we saw some children that had to have been born post-apocalypse.
