There are still a few things worth watching: Braves baseball, Bret Baier’s All Star panel, the Wall Street Journal Editorial Report, and that five minutes every Wednesday night @ 8:35 when Dennis Miller is on Bill O’Reilly.
I really would not miss a single modern TV show. Nope not one. I do like watching movies, though, and my wife is addicted to TV, so we will be keeping it around..
I just can’t believe all the griping about television. There’s lots of good stuff, if you look for it. Everyone’s taste is different but there is good stuff. What about Austin City Limits or The Artist’s Den? Both present a wide range of musicians and genre.
For dog lovers, there’s Too Cute on animal planet. In a fun way, it presents puppy development.
For the Foodie there’s Anthony Bourdain on CNN. Globe Trekker TV on PBS is great for the back-pack adventure travel set.
Tell me that you don’t like MYTHBUSTERS! They make science and physics fun.
Fantasy shows on the networks, Grimm, Believe, (in the past X-Files and Fringe) American Horror Story: Coven aren’t just spooky and freaky. There are definite production values, character development and tight scripting.
Yes, reality programing is a blight upon the medium. But, you can always change the channel.

The original “Beverly Hillbillies” was the precursor to the madness.

It started with Ted Mack’s Amateur Hour; and it’s been downhill ever since.

Andy Griffith, Bonanza, and Gunsmoke reruns, then baseball and football for me. Other than that nothing for me to watch.

If you will obey me, I’ll give you a home, and I’ll promise to never watch any of those shows. An easy promise to make, since I don’t watch them now.
