Given the notice of the passing of DirtyOldLady1 AKA DOL1 was “below the fold” some of her friends may not have heard of her demise. It cannot be much of a surprise, given that she had pneumonia and a couple of heart attacks, and was on supplemental oxygen, and her eyesight was failing. We are all diminished by the loss of someone who for at least over the past year lived life as well as she could, and on her own terms. May she find peace and joy on the next leg of her travels. As I’ve said before, life is eternal, and some part of her spirit lives on, unshackled by the pains of pneumonia, copd, and onset of blindness. Now she begins a new phase of existence, we cannot understand except through the poets and artists who have tried to portray whatever is after this form of life. I have my faith, it is a rock I can lean on, or an anchor or drogue for this physical vessel, keeping this old ship stable in storms, and a source I can call on to lay to. I don’t want to push mine on others, I just try to be a good representative, and help others if I can. Sometimes, I suspect the prospect of doing good and helping others may be my primary motive force. I have a lot of challenges, probably exactly my allotment, and sometimes I’ve overshared my challenges. I apologise for that. But near the end, when DOL1 was facing a difficult time, I knew how to deal with one of her problems, and reached out and tried to help. And I am glad I was able to be there and work her through her difficulties. Sail on, DirtyOldLady1. May the currents be with you and gentle breezes fill your sails. Sincerely and Respectfully, Lewis,

    JusNotAVeryGoodPoet

I miss Dirty Old Lady. She was sweet, generous and cantankerous in random measures and at unpredictable intervals. She knew how to live.

I think they might all be Lucrainians, and see Sarah, Tall and Slithery, as a possible agent to deal with the Locals. But if they release the lions, all bets are off. Lemme see the lions before I place my bet.Remember to Vote! Our group is doing fairly well this month, but let’s see if we can put out an extra effort. . Vote ENDTOWN . Vote Doc Rat . Vote Hubris

. Vote Kevin and Kell . Sincerely, . JusSayinUnderground EndtownYou know, there was an earlier Underground I hope the link works and many enjoy. I searched long for a really good version, and this seems fun and appropriate. Somehow I feel the need to combine Thelema, Bowie AND MUPPETS! . Besides it will explain a Sig line over at Doc Rat’s CTC Underground Forum.Jus Hoping it works.

Remember how the Endtown Rats raised Mayor Walt up into the High Council chambers with a plunger? Lizards are more polite, more understanding of the physical laws of science, and more High Council-ly.

Looks like its time for another trial, or gladiator games. Bet they probably are in trouble for knocking down all those pointy spires, that was most likely their city.

You gotta look at it from the Lizard’s point of view. Here is a group of strange mutants on their turf, in a topsider vehicle no less. They cause an avalanche and then an explosion that injures at least one lizard. They sound dangerous to me.

This must be the apocalypse without a dictionary or thesaurus, because people continue to to use the words wrong. On the plus side, I think I got my wish for a more fair judicial system. We finally found ourselves a THUNDERDOME!

Just had a thought, Perhaps it is a collective audiance for them to recount their adventure? Or something more like that? Or! The Spanish Inquisition!! No one would expect that!!

As for the comic, this reminds me of when Kirk and McCoy were on trial in Star Trek VI

This is the first mutant colony I’ve seen that looks like it could give Endtown a run for its money. Okay, this is only the third colony I’ve seen but I have generally assumed that most of them are like Alboin West. This looks way too complicated to have been built in the 6-7 years after the end of civilization. It was hinted at the end of the Flaskback story that it took many lifetimes to create Endtown. This place doesn’t appear to be as far down as Endtown but the brick work in the walls and that amphitheater couldn’t have been easy to build.

Some of us allow our personalities to come out in our comments, some of us hold back. And some, like DOL, just couldn’t help but spray loud and witty color all over their comments. She was someone I will never meet personally, yet felt a bit of connection with. Lovely eulogy, Just Sayin, well spoken and from the heart. I do believe in a loving and just God who rewards seekers, of which DOL sounded like one. Enjoy the new air up there, DOL!

I do believe they are going to release the “dogs” hence the reason for “Keep still and nothing will happen”. Dogs only chase what runs.I see Jim running about and screaming in the helium induced voice.Holly will grab Wally.Wally will poof and hold his ground.Sarah will go forth……and bat clean up. She has to uphold her last name……..BATTLE.And yes these are the remains of “Medieval Times and Tournament”The show is about to begin with a new twist…..the customers are part of the show.

I am very sorry to hear about DOL. I agree that was a beautiful eulogy, JS. I’m not a frequent commenter but I check the comic just about every day and I’m semi-frequent with reading the other comments. I had never had the fortune of ever speaking to DOL in person, but I always looked forward to her witty comments. I knew she was in poor health, but I am glad to hear that she lived life to the fullest. May she rest in peace. Blessed Be.

And this group our heroes have stumbled upon are the prime definition of understatement. A giant komodo dragon could very well come out and chew on Wally, and they’d probably just say “Oh nonsense, the komodo’s just getting a taste. Stay still and no harm will come to you…”

Looks like a case of a gang of mutant lizards being busy-as-beavers since the apocalypse…either that, or there’s another place besides Endtown that was set up beforehand…

I’ve been reading Endtown and Endtown comments to have become familiar with quite a few posters here. DirtyOldLady1 let it be known she had health issues but did not let it consume her interaction here. R.I.P. DirtyOldLady1. May you find peace, happiness and well-being in eternity.

I’m so sorry to hear about DOL1’s passing. I never really interacted with her here myself but I used to read her comments. I just hope wherever she is, she’s at rest now. She was a character. :)
