They did a whale of a good job in disguising him and they even have him drinking a short latte instead of a Venti.

Another joke here is the coffee shop name. Starbuck is the first mate of the Piquod

This is not the handiwork of the FBI. The FBI would have disguised Moby Dick as a white whale.

pearlandpeach, oceola’s point was that the FBI is so incompetent that they would have disguised him very poorly, almost like not disguising him at all.

all was well, until Levi uncontrollably blew a fountain of water out his blowhole saturating the dingy interior of dockside starbucks. Ahab, turned, squinting through the misty haze, reaching for his harpoon, bellowed: “THAR SHE BLOWS” the struggle that ensued was legend

Is this revisionist? I seem to remember Gregory Peck going down under tied to Dick’s side with the harpoon ropes. Oh, yeah, that was fiction and this is real life. Sorry.

Beautifully executed. Mutliple gags – Starbucks’, The name “levi” as well as a timely shot at the FBI and a delightful nose-thumbing of a literary classic.

Comics Expert Rating: ** (out of five)

Joe, I’ve often speculated if Jonah didn’t get sucked up by a whale shark. No larger fish on earth, you know. And it’s been known to swallow a lot of things whole.

People who believe silly mythological tales are… well silly.

I believe He could have if He wanted to. And it wouldn’t have to be a special fish. God could have stopped the digestive juices from working if He wanted to. Probably the reason the fish threw up. Major indigestion.

I was just speculating. We won’t know until we get there, I suppose. :)

Matthew 5:22 Whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

So be careful or you might have a hot time in the old town tonight.

    Joe,

I know. But I’m just a very curious person. It’s part of who I am. And it’s fun to speculate about these things. It’s important to be like-minded on the big issues. But the nit-picky stuff? I think God gets a few laughs out of people trying to figure out all the details.

And Roy, we’re called to view all people in light of the scriptures. Joe’s not calling anyone a fool. He’s just repeating what God said. The context of the verse you are quoting is in reference to Jesus telling people they’re being hypocritical in how they judge people. We don’t judge others based on our standards, but on God’s. (That includes judging ourselves.)

    Hey Joe,

Were you really repeating that God said, “People who believe the story of Jonah is a myth might be the ones who are spiritually silly.”?

Anyone who DOESN’T believe the story is a myth is 0-7 years old. Fact.
