    This used to be a problem with the auntie or uncle wanting to give the child a smooch and the child not wanting it. However, isn’t it modern child psychology to give the child space in that regard if that’s what he wants?

    Continually forcing a child to submit to unwanted “affection” could result in that child thinking that more inappropriate touching is not only OK, but even encouraged by the parents.

    Every generation there’s a slew of new childraising revelations. But so far as I can tel, the more revelations, the worse the children turn out.

    Wish I had had some of those fake cold sores… When I was in this situation, I eventually learned I could get out of a mouth smooch by quickly presenting my cheek.
