This lady was raised to shake hands which I still (and will always) do. I taught my kids (now respectful adults) to shake hands, which they do. We do fist bump now and say “dude” as a rare joke. The grandkids will be raised to shake hands.
Sweettaddietude…Gentlemen do not shake hands with a lady unless she extends her hand first.
I fist bump, due to germs. And after I read an article in the news yesterday on it, may even stop that. (The article was on getting doctors to stop shaking hands due to germs and spreading them…the fist bump was mentioned as not being much better.).
@ladylagomorph; I have the same problem with my MD. ONE of us has wet hands after our meetings, ‘cuz I tote Lysol in the car and USE it after our get-togethers.. There’s SICK people around that office, and I ain’t gonna bring ‘something new’ home with me after all the effort trying to keep my own problems to myself !! (snarl, snort, fume)
I never understood the whole hand-shaking thing. Why do we need to touch each other – especially strangers. And then there are the strangers that want to hug you when you first meet – what’s with that?
Hand shaking is a way to introduce germs to a person so that they can develop immunities. Staying away from germs, just makes the immune system all the weaker.
I don’t shake hands for one simple reason. I recently spent eight month in the hospital with 3 different infections and with IVs in me most of the time. One was so bad I hallucinated for over a week. Gosh knows where I got them. So, if you’re offended by the fact that I won’t shake hands, tough!

If you can’t shake hands, why bother.

I was never there with either, and will not be if ‘twerking’ each other becomes a substitution.

Elbow bumps don’t share germs. Nose rubs do,but there alot more fun with your sweetie.
