Watching folks from around the world, as in members of the U.N. coming in to aid IS the way it works, for everyone. Petty is not pretty.

Of course, Pat Robertson , lest he be left unmentioned in this situation ( god forbid) weighed in the other day from the comfort of his tv studio.

What he said was ignorant and inhumane, but it made me wonder - do televangelists make these remarks after natural disasters out of ideology, or to keep their audiences from having a stir of conscience? See, the latter would not be a good thing for Pat Robertson. If the viewers back home actually started to feel pangs of sympathy for Haiti, they might start sending money to Heifer International and U.N.Relief Services. The same ignorant statements were made after the Indonesian tidal wave, after 9/11, and after Hurricane Katrina.

They weren’t saying that we shouldn’t help, they pointed out a truth.. The truth is that the US basically pays for half of all UN actions.. Ken try to be a little less ignorant.. I realize it’ll be hard but all conservatives? Come on.. The difference is in the approach.. A conservative community will look at a disaster and begin working towards fixing it and doesn’t care if others gets involved.. We don’t complain we move on…. A liberal community will look at a disaster and ask who is going to fix it for them.. and if the help isn’t ample enough then they decry the evils and inhumanity of Christians and Conservative everywhere.. Theres a reason why us poor ol uneducated backwater West Texan conservatives didn’t have the complete recession crash like the rest of the US we just pulled our boot straps and got back to it..

Gee, Trout I didn’t know Heifer was funded by Washington or the UN. Canuck, the UN immediately pledged $10 million, the U.S. $100 million. Thank heaven for the UN! Ken, it’s documented that conservatives in America outgive liberals, making your nasty remark a lie into the bargain, par for the course.

agent- I’ve been to Heifer’s base outside Little Rock, and donated. They are privately funded by us flaming liberals as well, and going from shipping heifers to using indigenous livestock has improved the program and reduced costs. They also train people in what the “third world” is really like, and improved, without resorting to bombing them.

And it was the U.N. headquarters that collapsed, like Doctors Without Borders facilities- yep, them danged liberals just standing back watching the conservatives save the world. Hmm, WMDs were also “documented” by conservatives.

Bruce said: ”Or will the US taxpayers be expected to carry the brunt of the load as usual?”

Bruce, before you utter words like these, are you sure you have, as usual? I think you are one of the few here who do listen so please research facts before saying aloud often heard misconceptions. Or qualify them. UN contributions for the US are actually capped. When it comes to per capita contributions, I’d wager I pay more than the average American tax payer. Remember that you’re the 3rd most populous country in the world. Read it about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations#Funding
