According to the description, Gil Thorp “is not just about sports, sometimes dealing with topical, teen-oriented issues.” Has there ever been a suicide in this strip?
P2- Lucky with the eyes omitted reminds me of a Pink Floyd album with metalmen or aliens and dark areas where the eyes would be. What’s the name of the album?
Lucky in P3 lamenting over his project in woodworking/shop class, which was put on hold by his trimming his fingers all down to the same size by misuse of a circular saw. At first his woodworking/shop teacher thought it was an accident. Today’s strip paints a completely different picture, however.
I think we’ve misunderstood something here. That’s not Lucky in P2, that’s the bouncer at The Bucket, where’s it’s Adults Doing Perverted Things in Public night.
Then in P3, that is Lucky. The bouncer let him into the Bucket, where he witnessed Thorp, Mimi, Kaz, and Kaz’s squeeze do shameful public acts. (And I forgot Pedro, too.) Lucky will now be having regular therapy sessions for years.

No wonder Lucky blew the perfect game. With all of his fingers the same length, it’s almost impossible for him to throw properly.

Poor Lucky is so distraught he refuses to take of his baseball glove.

This strip is not that great by itself, but the commentary takes it over the top….

In P2, Lucky looks like he had turned to the dark side of the force

Maybe Lucky can hook up with Little Orphan Annie – love to see how their kids’ eyes would turn out..
Dude, why so distraught? You did WIN the game, so the playdowns are imminent……oh, wait. That must be why he’s so upset.

In all reality, maybe Luckys madcap Dad can cheer him up.

The sad thing, it’s just a game. Hoping he gets over this but maybe Thorp could have sat him down if he noticed Lucky’s depression.

Maybe we’re all wrong and Lucky is just putting on his mime makeup.

To commemorate the 100th episode of Mopped Up Thorp, a very special edition is online. The regular strip for today will be posted later.

With all these “real life” plots the last few years we haven’t had a teen suicide, Maybe Lucky will try and kill himself over this?

You guys are terrible! Can’t you see that Lucky is sad, and he’s chosen to cheer himself up with a rousing game of “Find Your Face”?

tcar: The Pink Floyd album I’m inquiring about was before The Wall. There is a cut where Pink Floyd’s Roger Watters is talking about machines.
