Got to love those gas rationing days. Today’s police really would be stressed out if they still had to try to decide whether or not people were driving for business – or for fun!
I lived in L.A. during the gas shortages in the ’70s. Not a good feeling to be on empty and trying to find a gas station with gas. And then to be allowed only five gallons.
Ebsan, I was driving an old Caddy at the start of the crisis. I saw the writing on the wall, sold it, and bought a Honda motorcycle. I saved a literal fortune on gas at a time when I was making only about $1.65 an hour. :)

And I bet they’ve got the parking brake on, too.

The price of a gallon of gas is a good way of rationing it today.

Must have been actual consecutive comics (today and yesterday) from years ago.
