They’ll make a Yankee spy outta him yet. Just so’s they can have the fun of putting him in front of a firing squad…

Oh, dear! These Rebel enactors, or at least their leader, are taking this way too seriously! Poor Monty will soon learn the the hard way that on a man like him, facial hair can be deadly!

At least Monty chose to wear suspenders and a cotton shirt today, but does it matter if the cotton came from Bangladesh and not th’ South?

well that’s a great way to get yourself arrested for kidnapping, assuming he won’t be satisfied suing your stupid organization so hard you’ll be lucky to get work doing school plays about the civil war.

I was kinda hoping that Doc was somehow involved and they really were back in the 19th century…

These re-enactors really do go to extremes. Read “Confederates in The Attic” to learn more.

I just knew Monty had squinty eyes! This arc is fun.

Is this the first time we’ve seen Monty without his glasses? No, for example there was a Sunday comic where he appeared without glasses on six panels just two and a half weeks ago.

It seems Monty has opened his eyes when his glasses got removed.

OH Monty you really stepped in it again. Good story line set up a day ago and good use of suspenders to help with said set up. Keeping him gagged could stretch the story out.Too bad the ignorant southerner recreationists didn’t put 2 and 2 together with the polyester pants though, but that’s expected.

Doc has better things to do than hang around Monty. Everyone has better things to do than hang around Monty.

Went up to the California gold country once and saw a 49er re-enactment camp..Miners were all around the campfire talking in authentic western gibberish.I ask one oldtimer if that was a Studebaker wagon(wheelbarrrow) next to him..He just spit in his beard and didn’t even look at me..I was wearing Bermuda shorts at the time…..hee..hee..

Re-enactors are not so serious as to indulge themselves with common diseases of the time, however. And what about modern dentistry? Who had gleaming pearly whites back in the day?
