This is funny…..I got to go to Indy to the 1960 Indy 500. My dad won as salesman for Firestone tires so he got to attend the race. I was 8 years old. They do 231 mph now…..the top speed back then was 146 mph track record. Average was about 139 mph. It would take them it seemed forever to make one lap. 150 mph sustained was thought to be unbreakable.
