    Why you can’t reply to comments that start with images.When you click on Reply, GoComics creates the reply window which has a few words from the comment that you are replying to. If the comment begins with an image, the reply window may have only part of the image link.Those of you that post images are familiar with <img src="URL">. If the reply window gets <img src=" portion but not the complete link, then a broken link icon is displayed. Meanwhile, the browser keeps looking for the ending quote. The next quote appears within the form tag <form accept-charset="utf-8" class="comment_submission" action="/comments/1155792/" method="post" data-remote="true"> right after accept-charset=. The result is a link that looks like <img src="http://bunnyap...</em></p> <form accept-charset=" utf-8"="" class="comment_submission" action="/comments/1155792/" method="post" data-remote="true"> which Not a valid link and worse has corrupted the form tag, making the SUBMIT button useless.And now over to Susan who will explain what this crap means.

    x_Tech’s description, above, tells you exactly what’s happening….but in case it’s too technical….

    As he said, when you click “Reply”, the reply window shows you the first few words of the comment to which you’re responding.

    However…. if that comment begins with a picture, the characters that it “grabs” to display are the first part of the image link instead of any words.

    It doesn’t go far enough to include the ending of the URL. Bingo! It gives you only part of a link to an image, so you see that broken picture icon.

    Meanwhile, in the background, your browser doesn’t like broken links…it looks for the next set of quotation marks to try to finish off the URL…

    So it wrongly grabs part of the code that was supposed to make the SUBMIT button work….and ruins THAT too.

    Clicking on “Submit” then does nothing…. and you can’t post.

    @Gweedo Murray

    Gweedo Murray said (via Pcolli), about 23 hours ago“It’s getting better all the time…” ♪♪♫-I am always reading ! Some very nice graphics and that new O&W is looking so good I could just eat it like a banana ice cream sundae !!! I just don’t feel like doing so much of this circuitous routing and the sometimes long delay in it getting ‘registered’ as people have lives and I have to wait in the queue of personal priorities. -I should mention that “Keeping ….. Appearances” has their version of Andy Capp in Hyacinth’s brother in law Onslow. That F&H looks promising if the shows are as good as the clips. -Friday was good. Heather rode Joe’s riding mower for the first time. She had one when she owned a house. I picked up a Kenmore top loading washer at the recycling dump early in the week and used it for the first time Saturday. The bud contained in the lid that activates the washing cycles button when the lid is closed is broken off so I jammed a small piece of branch in the button hole and did two loads so far. I have the machine hooked up out side with a garden hose connected to the machine’s inlet.Hope your Tuesday [by the time you get this] is good !__________________________________________________Same here… When I’m absent, I always read Andy Capp too. I like to see what my family from other places are getting up to.-I hope you won’t have to wait much longer… I’m not the sort of person to tell another person to “get over it” I know how frustrating it can be.-Only Fools & Horses really is a classic sitcom. I love the theme song! Trigger is a road sweeper as it mentioned in the interview about his broom. He’s not very bright. He says fire “distinguisher” instead of “extinguisher” and “conspicious” instead of “suspicious” That’s what makes his character hilarious and unforgettable. Plus, He always called Rodney “Dave” no matter how many times somebody said “Rodney” in front of him. I miss Roger Lloyd-Pack.-Are those washing machines good? Did you read the comment I posted last week when I mentioned that I was scared of the washing machine as a kid? How silly!-Andy Capp would use a riding mower to cut the grass.-Hope your Tuesday is good too!
