The other day someone corrected me by saying that I didn’t mean American Idol, but should have said American Idiot. Yep, and never follow kids…nor animals on the Late Show.
Guys, you’re MISSING it, ALL of you. Peter has just insulted B.C. by implying that B.C.’s act is even worse than Clumsy’s. A tough act to follow Clumsy won’t be…which means that B.C. would be an even less tough act.
If it is the Gong show, I would hit the big metal thing with the stick very louder and then, boot Clumpsy with his dumb things out immediately before he starts to play with his dumb things.
But what if Clumsy’s act is, y’know, ENTERTAINING? With all his paraphernalia, can you imagine what a sensation he’ll be if can actually pull it off? We’re talking about a guy who can juggle water, after all.
I’m reminded of the line about watching a dog walk on his hind legs; it’s a minor point that he can’t do it well, it’s remarkable that he can do it at all…

Clumsy…entertaining…hm, if he wanted THAT he should’ve stuck to what he knows (juggling water balls).
On the other hand, it’s always good (if often risky) for an artist to stretch himself.
Either way, he’d be a tough act to follow…so I still think Peter’s betting on disaster for Clumsy (and disaster-plus for B.C.).
