Corey left a message on his site that he was not going to do anymore free comic strips. He just quit the whole project till he can figure out a way to make money off of it.
The last Barkeater Lake themed comic strip had Delores going out into a forest to chop down a christmas tree. Then she drags it into the house.
The last Toby themed comic strip had Toby Robot Satan standing on top of a taxi cab holding a christmas tree over his head claiming he was going to take this tree home with him.
I’ll pay a monthly subscription for it. Maybe we the fans should band together and do that? If he gets enough steady followers to read him, we can get them started again.
Thank you Time Traveler for the info. It is sad news. Lets hope he will return, I will miss his work. I worried he might do this with all the complaints. They got this for free and trashed him when he failed to meet their wants. When he was not getting paid for his work. I wonder how long they would work without pay. I was happy when I checked in and found a new strip. Thank you Corey come back soon
And I’m glad Toby does update.
(And I’m glad that Corey gets paid, or at least broad public exposure, by the fact that Toby’s published in MetroNY, a newspaper that’s handed out free M-F in NYC at most busy subway entrances - it’s one of the three or four most-read things in the subway.)
