    Are you holding a purse Ruby? Hit him upside the head with it! I’m sure Flo won’t mind.

    I don’t think that’s Ruby. Just some acquaintance. She should probably hit him anyway!

    I just turned 40 on the 14th. I wonder how long I could get away with turning 40 again…and again…

    At 30 I told people I was 39. They said I looked good for my age. I still say I’m 39. Nobody says I look good for my age.

    This is one of those classic “I hope I remember that when the opportunity comes” lines.

    That’s an interesting point Joe, never thought about “birthdays” as anniversaries. Now then… wouldn’t it stand to reason that Andy has known Ruby as long as Flo or if the two of them are childhood friends that even then Flo would have told Andy and he knows how old Flo is right? Is honesty the best policy or not? Or is this one of those statements that takes a degree in rocket science in order to know when to say something? You Da Man Andy!

    Speaking as someone who turns 49 a week from Friday, may I just say, “Shut up, Andy!”

    age is just a number (and since the biggest number doesn’t even win anything, it doesn’t matter). i’ve been 40 for years, and don’t mind telling people how many (12 to be exact). i’m still just an overgrown kid at heart, although some distressing signs of maturity sneak in from time to time.

    Well Joe maybe just maybe in this case “better” might have been to have kept his month shut? And in the case of “good” maybe Andy should have worded his statement a bit different… Like maybe 40? I don’t believe that 38 at best!

    I wish I could hold my age back but 40 seems ages ago. With employers thinking I’m too old and SS thinking I’m too young. Ruby just do me a favor and hit Andy Flo would approve and might help you.

    One only has 1 birthday and that’s when one is born. That day of the year for the rest of one’s life is a birthday anniversary.

    ~~~
    Technically you’re right but I wouldn’t want to go around having to explain that to everyone. Sometimes you just have to know what you know and be quiet about it.
    It would be such a drag if every time a birthday was mentioned you had to say no you only have one birthday and the rest are anniversaries…blah blah blah.
    I’m the same way about the fact that we did NOT get a new millenium in 2000, but 2001 since a decade ends at the end of the year ending in 0. And Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday not on a Friday. It gets too tedious to explain this stuff to everyone so I just keep quiet about it and know what I know.
