I don’t know the exact percentages, but people assume there are way more Voodoo and Rastafarians than there really are. Rastafarians are only a small percentage of the population in Jamaica, but they get more than their fair share of attention so people assume they’re the majority.
@Bruce Unless you yourself are a religious zealot you won’t have a problem with someone else’s religion.
Its the same thing that motivates racist people. Its something different that is not their own so they automatically despise it. It doesn’t matter the reasons it all leads to hate.
Scooter and the other “hypochristians” are a new ethnic group “Hate’ems”. No degree of fact can influence them. Whether in Haiti, Afghanistan, or Gaza- if the people don’t fit the role model of dumb as a post, filled with hate for all “others”, and committed to a fraudulent mythology they’ve totally misinterpreted- they are only slime to be ignored, or killed.
Learning the truths about those they hate is “original sin”.
Firstly thanks for the post. Just an observation, but perhaps part of the problem is what makes news. Just like in this country, people going about their business is not newsworthy, but if a wacko shoots up a business it is.
I have no doubt that the average person in Haiti, although poor, is a decent person trying to provide for his family. Is that newsworthy? Nah, but is a news ‘expose’ showing some religious fringe steeped in superstition, fraid so.

Ouch. But a true reality none the less.

Scott, that “mass of voodoo-worshipping do-nothings” is 96% christian…far higher percentage than “your people” here.

Sooky Rottweiler says; Ruby came back from Haiti. I saw her at the dog park. Now, one of my littermates is a hero!

Scott never told us why he devoted so much effort to telling us why he was leaving a couple of weeks ago, only to come slinking back now.
Guess the far-right forums he tried didn’t like his hate-filled style any better than we did?
