Danish pastries are called Viennese bread in Denmark, because they were invented by Viennese bakers. Squeak squeak!! The Velvet ant of North America actually a wingless wasp- squeaks when threatened. In 1864, US currency official Spencer M. Clark put his own portrait on the new 5 cent bill without permission- Congress banned living people being portrayed on paper money as a result.

I would never suspect there being paper money with such a low, low denomination. Good try, though, Mr. Clark.

Special thanks to Alexikakos for the video.I have watched Cow Killers all my life and never knew that they were also called Velvet Ants and squeeked. I knew they had a nasty sting, whence the name Cow Killer. A very beautiful insect, nevertheless.

In Chicago they’re never called Danish Pastries. We call them Sweetrolls. And BTW French Fries were actually invented in Belgium! ☺
