An aspiring composer once asked Mozart how to become a great composer.
Mozart replied that he should start small with unambitious pieces and slowly progress learning one little piece at a time.
The composer complained that Mozart was writing symphonies as a teenager; how could he offer such conservative advice?
Mozart replied that great composers don’t have to ask how to be great composers.
