Earth to Jane! Wake up! It since Skye voiced her feelings in front of Jane, Dorothy should tell Skye that her food plan won’t work. Oh! That would be too simple.

Is it all the sodium or is it all the chloride?

I disagree with your philosophy, but once in a while I will go on a strictly vegetable regimen. That involves making a large pot of vegetable soup and is pretty nourishing and filling, if I may say so myself. However, when I first made it it was rather bland, and not being a cook, I asked for some advice. The Japanese immediately told me it had no salt, so a couple of teaspoons per pot brought out the richness of the veggies.I agree that most foods have way too much salt, and I would be in favour of legislation to very gradually decrease salt in foods, the same was as smoking is getting marginalised and adding fluoride has great benefits in water supplies.

Dorothy wants Skye to alienate Jane and will encourage the “makeover.”

Try this: Make a loaf of bread and leave out the salt. It doesn’t taste as good, but it feels much lighter.

Its not the salt you should be worried about, its the corn fructose based additives that are quite literally in just about everything in one form or another, I’m sure that if they could figure out how to add it to lettuce they would.

Personally I had a friend who tried to get us all onboard the Vegan mothership and would only serve vegan at any gathering. I think the only thing they accomplished was to create several confirmed CARNIVORES. We HATED vegan, its AWFUL, bland bland chalky hot steamy wet cardboard with Elmers glue sauce. Aggh!

Now I have had good Vegetarian, hell there’s a great place here that specializes in Nepalize and Himalayan food that will knock your socks off, but the Vegans somehow seam to have forgotten that food is to be enjoyed, and that means cheeses and sauces and seasonings and things that make you smile when you eat them.

People who eat meat and dairy get plenty of sodium without adding salt. However, vegetarians, and especially vegans, end up with an electrolyte imbalance — too much potassium and not enough sodium — and so they have to add salt to their food. It’s the same reason herbivores will travel long distances to find a salt lick, and the same reason ranchers buy salt blocks for their cattle, sheep, horses, and other livestock.People can and occasionally do die from sodium deficiency if they don’t get enough.

“Carnivore” was meant more a joke, as afterwords we would tear out there and hit the nearest In-N-Out burger.
