We have Tag offices & Drivers License offices. For some reason they won’t put them in the same building.

It has to be way up there. That way there’s enough room for all the people waiting in line on three floors and down all the stairways. Three people will actually get a new license today.

mrsluke… Some people have it rough. Tell your state to move into the 21st century. Here in primative Arizona we have to get an emissions test. We can go online to see how long the lines are at the testing stations - the longest I have waited in line was 15 minutes. Then I go online and order the plates (online orders get a discount), and the Post Office delivers my plates in a couple of days.

I was just cracking a joke as usual, PlainBill. Most people think of DMV as a a never ending line to nowhere, so I went with that.

We have emissions here too. They did away with the testing station years ago. Now you go to one of many, many participating mechanics and it’s done in 10 minutes, every 2 years. Last time I didn’t wait at all. By the time I sat down, it was done. TWENTY DOLLARS PLEASE! What a joke. Then you drive home behind some car with no plates and no brake lights, that’s burning oil.

Nyuk, some of us live where taking the bus to the next town over is a 3 hour endeavor each way, or 15 minutes each way by car. I don’t have 3 hours to get to work. Those are actual numbers from a friend of mine who takes the bus from New Haven, CT., to Milford, just a few miles up the road. It isn’t even a rural area. New Haven is all city, and the Boston Post Road is all commercial. I think he’s crazy. If I had to take the bus from where I live to where he works, it would take 4.5 hours each way, even though it’s about 20 miles v. his 6 miles. No can do!
