Gosh, I haven’t seen spray-on deodorant for a Llllooonnnggg time! One would think the active ingredients in deodorant would deep-six any nasty flying critter… ;)
I once used a spray can of Glade air freshener to kill a couple of wasps in my bedroom as it was the quickest thing I could grab. It killed them & the room smelled fresh for days afterwards.
Insects have their skeletons on the outside; therefore, a spray would not kill them immediatly as easily as stomping on them when they’re on a surface. What the spray may do is take time to penetrate their extiores until it does its work..
Well I’ve never done that but do remember years ago when I was using Right Guard getting up in a hurry and spraying my underarms with hair spray. Yuck, could use as a substitute for Butt Glue to keep your clothes from shifting.
@MiHorn, I once mistook my hairspray for deodorant. True story! It was on a business trip with my manager, early morning, before a cup of coffee. Sprayed my underarms with hairspray. Didn’t kill any bugs, though, lol!
Nab certainly does NOT have a PhD in any science. While I do not believe the “climate change” nuts, he is wrong about the effect of the CFCs in the upper atmosphere. Ozone absorbs UV light even in the low concentrations that exist in the upper atmosphere. The gases in the lower atmosphere are very poor UV absorbers.
Since the FBoFW website is still having problems, I went back to the fourth treasury book to find any comments Lynn may have made. There were none for the last few days, but there is one for tomorrow. If the website is still down, I will post that comment here.
Could be worse. Seems a mosquito was bothering this person one night. He reaches for the bug spray, and starts aiming at the buzz in the dark. Finally gets him.Next morning, awakes and looks around the room and then realized, that in the dark, grabbed a can of spray paint!(But, at least, he got the mosquito!)
For those who read Lynn’s Notes here:The server, where they’re kept, had a problem Saturday and yesterday, so they couldn’t be displayed here. It’s working again — click the links to read them there. No Lynn’s Notes today.
What I really don’t understand is why you and Nab troll a comic strip about a family. It isn’t political. It isn’t biting satire. But here you both are, making asine remarks on a regular basis. And you go out of your way to be the first each day, just to annoy people who come for a laugh.Pathetic.
It’s just a gag. No need for eyeglasses. You see a can, grab, and spray.Heck, he coulda grabbed a can of Pledge, and polished him off. (yuck, yuck, yuck.)

And here I just took it as a play on the old Brill-Cream/Toothpaste gag.

Better than actual bug spray. The deodorant should make the bug dopey enough to smack it

Hairspray works on bugs also.

And just a few years ago, we were being warned of another ice age on the way?

I don’t remember ever seeing aerosol deodorant cans. If they were outlawed in 1989, that would explain it. I was only a toddler.
