Of course it’s Connie: look at the neckerchief! Granted, she seems to have matched it with what appears to be a burqa and she has gone for John Patterson’s hair colour to match her John Patterson glasses.
LOL!! Love the comments today. Poor kid. He’s been waiting for his mom to come home and some stranger arrives. Also, I know some seem to think that he doesn’t need his mom after breaking his leg, but I disagree with that. So, he’s been waiting and it’s obvious that she hasn’t rushed home since she’s changed her appearance so much.
Wow, an AFRO, and Gunnysacks clothing. That’ll sure attract all the men. If we could see further down, we would see her new pair of Birkenstocks. It’s really still quite the same OLD Connie. I wonder when she’ll look in the mirror and cry?
I had my hair permed and my kids did not recognize me and were quite panicked. My sisters and I look a lot alike and they were sure I was not me. Then the 6 year-old announced it was me look at my shoes!
We all laughed and laughed.
howtheduck: you proved my point yesterday. I said that Connie had married a man with two daughters. She did. Granted that the girls chose to move back to their mother after a year, but teen-aged girls who have been uprooted from their friends and familiar “stomping grounds” have a tendency to be erratic anyway. Connie did her best and Greg (thanks for reminding me of his name) was the main disciplinarian as evidenced by one of the strips you linked.
You also mentioned how horrible Greg was for turning Lawrence out of their home when he “came out”. Did you also remember that Lawrence spent ONE night at the Patterson’s house and then went back home. It seems that “the old ogre” Greg realized after less than 24 hours just how dumb he had been.
Connie WAS pretty messed up at this point in her life as the current story arc has shown, and even she was beginning to realize it. She did, however, manage to get her act together when she moved to Thunder Bay and then came back to Millborough.
BTW, thank you for the links to old strips that you post. You are a much better searcher in Lynn’s archives than I am and I have thoroughly enjoyed the strips you have linked.
Diana: I’m with you! I would definitely sue the stylist that gave her that ugly ‘do if I were her!! That style rarely, if ever, looks good on ANYBODY!!!!!

She should sue the stylist.

This is suppose to be in the 70’s right? That’s why I recall the hair. I do believe my mom had that do during the same time frame.

Oh it doesn’t look that bad from where we sit. Maybe in real life it would be much worse.

It’s impossible to get a bad haircut in a Maontreal salon! Did she have a layover in Newfoundland?

If she is wearing glasses, where are the ear pieces to hold them up? Lynn just draws large eyes – artistic license.

…and that’s when young Lawrence realized he was going to be a hair stylist when he grew up.

I didn’t know Lawrence had a fraternal twin aunt named Bonnie that his mother didn’t tell him about! (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
