Years ago I was in line at a very busy convience store / gas station when an irate customer came in covered with gas. It seems he had been trying to fill his tank but decided to look down the nozzel when no gas was forthcoming. It turns out that he performed this amazingly stupid action just before the busy clerk activated the pump without looking outside. I felt sorry for the guy but sheesh! How dumb can you get?

I figured out how to remove the little spring-loaded valve, now my gas can works well.
