What is that banner ad about a new collection for ages 7 – 12? What are they doing? Censoring the strip? Picking those strips that don’t challenge the kids. Well that is stupid. Do your kids and yourselves a favor and only buy complete collections. There is nothing there that is bad for kids to read. The only thing it may do is challenge your kids. Which is what you want if you want them to grow into full adults. This trend to dumb things down for kids is stupid. Peanuts is still popular today for a reason. Don’t let an editor think they know best.
My daughters are actually counting down the days before school starts; they can’t WAIT! They’re actually looking forward to it. Last week they noticed that, on the 17th, there were 17 days to go. They thought that was neat.
The collection for ages 7 -12 has nothing to do with a fear of lawsuits or of offending anybody. It’s just one more way to make money from “Peanuts.” What you call your niche marketing……..
Speaking of niche marketing, this being the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War I, wouldn’t you love to have a complete collection of World War I Flying Ace episodes all in one book? (Speaking of World War I, anybody who wants to visit the Liberty Memorial and World War I national museum here in Kansas City will be quite welcome, indeed!)
@Snoopy_FanI’ve heard the saying “Grey hair is better than no hair at all” Can’t argue with that! Apparently, Grey hair is supposed to be very distinguished.-I do get the occasional aches and pains as well but maybe that’s because I stay in the same position for a long time when I sit down and I get a lot of pins and needles. It always feels really weird to walk when one of your legs is asleep. Don’t try it! Haha.-I still remember your birthday. 4th September. See, I haven’t forgotton!-I really don’t mind putting my email address on my profile. I wasn’t planning to keep it up permanently. If by any chance I do get any spammers or weirdos emailing me, I can easily block them. Besides, It’s a risk I’m willing to take.-I’ve still put my email address on my profile. I would really like to record my voice for you and stay in touch. I’m not forcing you to email me but I just think it would be a real pity if we don’t. -I really appreciate you thinking about my safety but like I said, I don’t mind. I always respect your opinions. -.But anyway, It’s on my profile now. -I will miss you very much when I’m not commenting but I’ll still be watching out for you.

Now he’ll have to put on sackcloth.

This strip is from a time when you could make a Biblical reference in the funnies and not assume it had to be insulting.

I thought Linus was the type that would love going to school…. Hmmm, maybe he hasn’t laid eyes on the beauteous Miss Othmar yet!

Too bad for Linus it’s summer and he doesn’t have an ashcan handy.
