Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for October 09, 1992
Transcript:
Nate: You're giving me a D-minus on my report? Ms. Godfrey: I had no choice, Nate you didn't follow instructions. I asked for five type-written pages on columbus =. Instead you gave me a bunch of sloppy cartoon drawings. Plus, your report was full of inaccuracies and distortions! Francis: What does she mean "Distortions" Nate: Maybe i drew his nose to big.

Actually, this might be the most accurate report on Columbus of all time. I have to take Nate’s side here. Mrs. Godfrey made a rare mistake.

The history of Christopher Columbus being the first one to discover America is inaccurate too

I would still probably give Nate the D- but I think in the future I would set up assignments where kids can turn in cartoons if they want to, with a certain buffer for creative liberty
