I am not drawn to a newspaper (print or online) that lacks a good selection of comics. Never could understand the cult of that New York City paper….

The Los Angeles Times Sunday Edition is always three or four inches thick, full of all sorts of stuff.

And at the center of it all, being nicely protected by all that otherwise useless padding, you will find the Color Comics.

    Priorities, people, remember the priorities!

The New York Times is a special newspaper for the humor impaired.

Now, now, everyone (me included) agrees that the comix are the most important thing in the newspaper.

But that’s not to say that they are the only important thing…

LUVH8 Why did you modify “impaired” with “humor”? Thank God the NY Post balances the NYT.

living in a newspaper impaired town, the NYT is essential.

But, the WaPo makes up for it with a really nice selection of other essential reads.

exactly the reason why I would never succumb to the barrage of commercials promoting subscription to the times….. for a shot at what should be a large array of printed comics, I would try it…….but for none?…..not worthy of even consideration of it

those people who read the NYTimes are too busy to let a little levity into their lives, that is why there are no comics in the NYTimes that is why i am thankful for gocomics

Sigh, pearlandpeach… I do miss the WaPo. Good news articles and a great comics section. I only subscribe to the rag in this town to have a paper to hold on the weekends.

As a “news”paper, the NYT is enough of a joke that comics would be superfluous.

the way i remember it, the official line was that the NYT’s motto is “all the news that’s fit to print”, and they don’t consider comics to be news.

so what about all the rest of the silly fluff that gets into that rag?

    sigh…

they don’t consider comics to be news.

    Well that’s just silly.

Look – today’s comic is different than yesterday’s, yes?

That means it’s a new comic!

    That’s News!!

No wonder their readership is plummeting like a million dollar solid-gold plated brick.

I have not read any of the NYT since they made us in school. Lewreader have you ever seen anyone holding a NYT more dour people are hard to find. There are many people with other impairments who still retain a sense of humor. (See your comments on Birdbriains ( : )(& mine!)

In the future, there will only be three newspapers: The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. None of them carry comic strips.

The funniest parts of our local paper are the comics and the editorial pages. Some of the letters to the editor are funnier than Archie Bunker’s thought processes.
