That is an old one. The last time I heard a version of that it was Peter Jennins. I’m 65 and don’t remember a lowell Thomas. Course, here in rural Arkansas it was only five years ago that we heard that Roosevelt wasn’t President any more.
I’m 66 and I DO remember Lowell Thomas. (Hey, Tsali: Dewey Defeats Truman. At least that’s what the newspaper said. But I have some REALLY bad presidential news for you.)
My 60-year-old school-teacher GF was just telling me she had to explain to some of her students that once upon a time when people wanted to drink water they went to the sink and drank from a glass and not a bottle from the fridge. The kids were astonished at a world so backwards.
