Kaz sees one clip on his phone and decides “the kid can really play”? And once again we see Mimi preparing enough food for a dozen people. The Thorps could be having company, I suppose. Hope Gil doesn’t drink up all the wine before they get there.
I know some have criticized this plot, but I kind of like the extended football story, which will probably somewhat carry over into the spring. Beats one armed golfers and washed-up, demented wrestlers any day!
“Leading them on” isn’t Gil’s job. Will that fall to Molly in her pizza box bikini, Glory in her see-through pants or the basketball flashmob’s pole dance?
Gil’s follow through is actually very good. right heel up, facing the target. Looks like Kaz has pulled up the archives of John Heisman. reverse angle replay maybe. Gil of course doesn’t give a crap about his team.
Indeed, he’ll suit up. Since he’s a junior, we’ll have 2 years of Tru(e). The first year will include “why is my son not playing?”, followed by the lightbulb coming on for both Tru(e) and dad. Of course, they’ll miss the playdowns because Gil will be teaching the family a lesson. The second year will be about Tru(e)‘s recruiting. We can only hope that Tru(e) doesn’t get hurt, again causing them to miss the playdowns.
Even more confident in the prediction I made yesterday – The father won’t like it but Tru(e) will want to play for Gil because he is the first person to not suck up to him. And remember, this is only 7-on-7 season. Tru(e) will play this summer on Milford’s team. But something will happen and they will either leave town before fall or the kid will suffer a career ending injury.Meanwhile, over in Mopped Up Thorp, the class continues to ooze out of every pore.
All of us know how this is going to end: regardless of the plot, we are going to hate the story line, call it the worst yet, and long for the days of the things we’ve hated in recent years as being far better than this. The only suspense, the thing that keeps us coming back, is seeing how the writer skillfully manufactures a plot that is worse than the previous one.
Gil is starting to match the MoonMan drink for drink. Mimi prepares cabbage and potatoes for an Irish kicker Gil is trying to recruit. A good kicker will all but assure the Larks of a 2nd place tie and make it another successful season. Gil will be “stewed” by the time the kicker shows up and it will be up to Mimi to “land the kicking lad.”
Yes, of course we keep coming back for the comments and MUT. I call up the strip every morning and my wife asks me why I am laughing so hard. She doesn’t read the strip, so I cannot explain why I am laughing.

I’m a lousy golfer, but Gil’s follow through in P1 still looks all messed up. And apparently he forgot to zip his fly after leaving the locker room.

Didn’t Mimi google search the kid last football season that couldn’t talk? I think this story line has promise. Maybe.

In all reality, nice try at distracting Gil, Kaz/Bob , questioning Gil while he was swinging .

Looking at that odd artwork in P1, I would say that Gil didn’t get his t-shot past the ladies tee on the previous hole.

The food is for the Thorpe dungeon dwellers. So what do you think? Will True suit up for Milford in the fall or not?

Surely Wildcat could help raise the money for a package deal to True.

P2- Is Kaz wearing his winter gloves or is that a giant 1960’s watch band??
Gil can apparently get guests out at Milford CC? Does Dr. Scavuzzo, Chairman of the club, approve of this? Why isn’t one-armed Steve with them?
