Jazmine: Cindy, if you're going to be my best friend, then I think you should know my father is black. Cindy: No way!! You're black!!!?? Jazmine: Well, not really. My father is black... Cindy: But you don't look black! You're jsut a little tan, like Mariah Carey! Jazmine: Um, she's half-black too... Cindy: No way!!! I wonder who else is black? What's wrong with me that I can't tell? OMYGOD!!! Maybe I'm color-blind!!! Jazmine: Uh, I don't think so...

Some of the Boondocks characters in the animated version are essentially the same as their comic strip counterparts, but others are radically different. The main two are Cindy and Robert, and she has him beat by a country mile. The animated Cindy, a violent, streetwise thug in innocent little girl-clothing, is a completely different character than the friendly but cluelessly offensive embodiment of suburbia seen here.
