Huey: You have to wonder how sincere people are about all this patriotism and American unity. I mean,is it just a short-term reaction of a frightened populace trying to feel empowered and safe? Caesar: Hmm... Huey: I was personally thinking how six months from now all those mail-order flags that you can attach to your car window will be collecting dust in basements alongside people's Rubik's Cubes. How "God Bless America" and "United We Stand" may become post-modern incarnations of "Where's the Beef?" Caesar: "Where's the beef?" Huey: A mid-eighties rallying cry in response to some kind of national fast-food tragedy. Very weird...

Those flags were quickly torn to shreds by the wind, but people kept driving around with the tattered remains drooping from the little plastic flagpoles. Very patriotic and very respectful of the flag, all you true ’mericans.

Just a bit of trivia – per the U.S. Flag Code, to be a flag, it must be sewn; if it’s printed, it’s “an emblem of the flag”. Do with this knowledge what you will. (All I’ve ever been able to do with it is make people go “huh?”)
