Granddad: Yard looks good. Huey: Yard looks terrible. This yard was natural. It was untamed. It was wild. We've robbed it of that. It's like if someone cut my hair. We've turned it into something mundane. See what I'm saying? Granddad: Sorry, Huey. I wasn't paying attention. Did you say you're cutting your hair? Man, it's about time...

Hey, Mr McGruder. My name is Bryndon Ráschaul. I’m a fan of your comics and television series “The Boondocks”. Have been seen I first seen ‘em when I was a kid. I’m in college now, haha. I just wanted to tell ya that you’re awesome and appreciate your craft. I was rewatching the series today and I wondered if you still made the comics. So I looked online for any collection of strips from your series, which eventually led me to here. Once again, thank you. Your work has significantly influenced American pop culture and definitely the Black community. My best of wishes McGruder, kudos!

Huey’s about to learn theoretical vs reality: “looks good on paper, not so much in practice”. Long grass is beloved by moles, voles, snakes – venomous and non-venomous, insects

Huey, you need to cut the grass because there will be vermin and garden pests roaming about if you don’t.

That’s metaphysically absurd: one cannot see what another says…

Eventually the yard will turn to field grass, the city will cut it for you and send you the bill. $ $ $

Just plow it up and plant it in garden. Tomatoes, Peppers, Lettuce, Kale, Green Beans, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Corn, Zucchini. Let the Homeowners Association go nuts. It would feed Huey’s need to be a revolutionary.
