The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for December 26, 2021
Transcript:
Jazmine: Well, I don't care what you say, Huey. You're stubborn. I try to keep an open mind about things. Huey: Now that is not a fair accusation... I believe in the quest for self-correction... When experience shows me something new, I re-evaluate my stance. For example - I used to be a firm believer in the economic philosophy of black nationalism. Jazmine: What's that? Huey: That's the belief that black people have a responsibility to support black businesses, because that creates a strong black economic base, powerful black entrepreneurs, etc. Those powerful black business people would then act in the best interests of black America. Jazmine: You don't believe in that anymore? Huey: Let's just say B.E.T. shot a few holes in that theory.

There is no end of economics. Books, classes, papers, studies, charts. . .

Huey may not be the most social or positive guy in the world, but he just wants to bring unity to the world. Jazmine shares that goal, but is more idealistic about it.

You don’t have to support every black entrepreneur, Huey. You can pick the good ones.

B.E.T. always was one of McGruder’s prime targets. Can’t say he was wrong either.

I just want to say that the art work and color of today’s strip is just wonderful!Really nice to look at the panels that put you right there on a pleasant autumn day with the characters. Well done. It is really a shame this comic ended. Happily we still have these reruns.

I did not watch much B E T so my comments don’t much water.
