Lady: Excuse me, young man, would you like to help me carry my groceries? Huey: Do I look like a pack mule? Your request insults me. Lady: Great! And there's twenty dollars in it for you once you're done. Huey: So? Don't you hear? I ain't doin' it. Lady: Splendid. Now, are you Huey or Riley? I just can't tell... Huey: Huey! We don't all look alike, you know! Lady: You say you want a bike? Well, you can always ask Santa... Huey: I'm outta here...

Panel 3 is just wrong. I might have done it if it wasn’t for Panel 3.

People could ask Huey what time it is and he’d say, “Do I look like your freaking clock? I ain’t telling!”

$20!! In 1999 is equal to $33 today, pretty big tip for an 10 year old. I don’t know the names of any of the kids on my street.

Just carry the groceries, and refuse the 20.

Sometimes Huey gets carried away. Twenty bucks is twenty bucks.

Ordinarily, I’m on Huey’s side (despite his general “everyone is out to get us” attitude), but in the first panel, he’s just being rude. If a stranger approaches you requesting help and you reply with a smarta$$ remark, well, this isn’t a great life strategy… uh, maybe she wasn’t seeing a negro, but just some neighborhood kid who might help an old woman out (and, as it turns out, make $20) Yes, the rest of the strip shows us that shes a little “off”, that’s the joke, but spending your life with a chip on your shoulder wont make you a very happy man as the years go by…At least you won’t be burdened by having any friends or being a particularly popular co-worker someday (What do you mean, finish this report?? I ain’t your slave!!!) Kinda sad, really…
