The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for February 01, 2022
Transcript:
Granddad: Just wait a minute. The lady gave him the bag to carry, right? I mean, it's not really stealing if she handed him the bag... Huey: Is that right? Granddad: And she told him to carry the bags to the house, but did she say which house? Neither one of us was there, so we can't really say, can we? Huh, boy? And if it was her bag, why hasn't she come looking for it? She must not want it that bad? Right? You follow me, don't you? Huey: Hey, you don't have to convince me - just the judge that's gonna send your grandson upstate for five years. Good luck.

I think I have finally done the fully cycle of Boondocks; wish I would have been reading it when I was younger; think I’ll keep reading it.

Is it a crime to receive converted property? Grandpa is technically correct, it wasn’t theft as I pointed out yesterday. But!

Either way, Riley will be okay with going to jail.

I assumed the reason the reason the older lady knew the boys’ names was because she knew fellow senior citizen- their granddad.

When Huey is the voice of reason….

All this could have been avoided if Huey was just a nice neighbor and carried the groceries. And he should have refused the twenty. She wasn’t being racist, just asking a neighbor for help and being more than generous.

I realize its a cartoon but Please make Grandpa a positive role model. Young men need the all the help they can get in todays world. I do appreciate your many of your past works.

So disappointed in Grandad!

Grandad’s legal argument would work for Kyle Rittenhouse. Riley, not so much.

This is a Deep Toon, reminds me of those local news hits where they interview the family of the nut case cop killer that dies in a shootout, but they say “He was a good boy” then hold up his 3rd grade school picture and you see the neck tattoo.

She hasn’t come to the house to ask for it back because she’s busy filling out the police report.

If Riley were to go to a juvie lockup, he wold be in for a rude shock when his fake “thug” act gets laughed at. And then the real thugs beat the living dyalights out of him. Might give him a new perspective on the thug life.
