Huey: I suppose I like "star wars" because it is a story about a revolution and I am a revolutionary. Man: Interesting... Huey: Given that the original story was written in the mid-seventies, I think "star wars" was meant to be allegorical to the anti-colonial struggles that had only recently taken place on the continents of Africa and Asia - not to mention the struggle for black liberation here in the United States. Man: Hmmmm... Nope, I just don't see the connection. I think you're reading too much into the movie. Huey: ... Said the man with "yoga is god" on his t-shirt.

I’d have to ask my oldest son. He read all the Star Wars books. I seem to remember him saying the books are more political, while the Star Wars movies I have seen are more glamorous.

Star Wars was a decent Western, with cool FX; the Empire was the evil rancher, the rebels the downtrodden farmers. Pure formula.
The Empire Strikes Back was more of the same, but not as good.
The rest have just been drivel.
