Jazmine: Watch your step, Huey! Huey: Why? Jazmine: Earthworms. After it rains they end up on the sidewalk. People don't look and end up squishing them. I like to pick them up and put them back in the grass. Huey: That's very benevolent of you... Jazmine: Here you go Mr. Worm. Go back to your worm family. Huey: Look. There's a stranded slug... Jazmine: Bleaaach!! I'd never touch a slug!! Huey: Hmmm. Selective salvation. You may have a bright future in foreign policy. Jazmine: Worms are cute. Slugs are just gross.

What if the worm lives on the other side of the sidewalk? She just made the journey longer :-o

For a sweet little girl, Jazmine can be so fickle.

I have to agree with Jazmine. I would never touch a slug. For one thing, they carry a lot of parasites, and then there’s the slime … yuck! Other than moving the soil around, the only good thing about them is that they provide food for other garden animals, such as toads. I know a slug is just a snail without a shell, but … yuck!

This comic is old enough that the grown-up Cindy might be working in the government right now and helping to craft the US’s stances towards Ukraine, Saudi Arabia and Somalia
