I never really lived up to my resolutions. That’s why I stopped making them.

Huey, you are going to be working on ending White Supremacy for about 200-300 years after you die and we as a society may still not be there. As for capitalism, what will you replace it with? Communism is based on the assumption that all people are egalitarian. They gladly accept the communist dictum “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” Capitalism on the other hand is based on the assumption that everyone is a greedy so and so, out to amass as much money as they can by any means. Guess which one works. I will agree unrestrained capitalism is dangerous as we have seen as Republicans have done away with safeguards on children working, even at dangerous jobs. Some of those kids have been injured as the owner of the business pursues profits even if it harms kids.

If you have not read it, I would recommend Upton Sinclair’s book The Jungle from the early 20th Century. It focuses on the meatpacking industry but it should give you some idea of the lengths unregulated capitalism will go to maximize profits without a thought for the harm they do their customers.
