JWF: We went through it with both mothers and a next-door neighbor. My FiL was long, but managed pain, my father by a cerebral hemorrhage moments following the completion of his weekly newspaper column, and the neighbor had three nearby children to take up most of the duties.
Living with your parents isn’t always a symptom of “a failure to launch”. Nor is living with ones mother necessarily a symptom of still being tied to apron strings.
In some cases, it’s more accurate to say that the parent lives with the child. If Boyd’s new acquaintance lived with his mother, so that she would have companionship, and someone to help with expenses; then he might have been an ideal mate. For someone — not for Boyd unfortunately, because apparently, he wasn’t open to the other possibilities.

Sorry, NIght-Gaunt49. I know what it’s like to be there for older/infirmed parents.
