Adam: Laura, let's have our best Valentine's Day ever. Laura: Okay, but... Adam: But nothing. Your mom volunteered to baby-sit, and I have an old gift card from Vio's cafe. Laura: Hmmm...well, okay. Adam: Then maybe we could drive to the airport and watch the planes take off. I burned a CD of your favorite 80's music. Total cash out-of-pocket is zero. Laura: Thrifty and thoughtful. A potent combination. Adam: Tell me about it. I put those exact words up near the top of my resume. Right by the picture of me rollerblading. Laura: ...And until now, I'd always wondered why Bill Gates never called you back after you applied at Microsoft.

I can hear and see planes landing at LaGuardia from my house in Queens (so often you don’t even notice anymore). And there are plenty of great spots to see them land.

There are still plenty of airport observation areas throughout the country, most have been moved further away for security reasons but there still out there.

Adam, sometimes you say just a little too much.
I agree, there are places to watch the planes. All you need to do is look for them.

The Honolulu International Airport’s runway starts right next to the ocean. There was a road that went between end of the runway and the ocean. Sometimes the planes would come in about 20 feet above the car. I wonder if that road is still open.
How about it? Anyone here from Oahu?
