Security notices are EVERYWHERE, clearly stating what one can or can not take on-board… That woman only has herself to blame… If she’s so concerned about her $4… she can drink it before she goes through security…

My daughter bought a set of small jars of confiture and chutnies… Security opened every jar before I could go through…

This is not accurate, though. There is no place to buy water or food BEFORE security. Once you are through security, you can buy bottled water and you CAN bring it on the plane. i always do this. OR, if I remember, I bring an EMPTY water bottle through security (that’s fine) and fill it in a water fountain afterwards. I ask for water on the plane and get it in a cup …..and pour it into the water bottle to keep it filled. That procedure lasts me until I get to my hotel. And using an empty water bottle rather than a fancy-schmancy thermos-like container, I don’t have to be upset if I lose it or misplace it or have it confiscated (which has never happened!)

Has enhanced airport security ever stopped an actual bombing? I’m guessing that if you actually wanted to get something harmful onto a plane there are other ways to do it, and a determined person could find it – and frisking most old people and kids is just silly.

Unfortunately they charge a lot for water they sell which you will take on the place.
