    And when you made a phone call, the neighbours listened in to see if there was anything interesting going on in your life. And you didn’t lock you doors. And if you lived in the suburbs or the country, the kids could wander off into the fields or the woods for hours without parents worrying about perverts.

    I remember my grandparents having a radio WITH a chest of drawers! Wait, maybe it was sitting on a chest of drawers. It sure looked like one piece of furniture.BYW, remember the first Quasar televisions with the “works in a drawer”? It was made so the repairman didn’t have to move the television out into the living room to fix it.

    Crazy Talk! ..it was nothing to walk home late at night… along a street that only had street lights at the crossroad. Or walk the 5 miles or so to the Fall Fair, have a blast and then bum a ride from anyone going up that huge hill back to town when it was time to go home.
