    When my cats do that, the sound they make before the result can pull me out of the deepest sleep possible… Don’t know why… But the worse thing is stepping in it before seeing it on the floor… Ewww…

    Mine wouldn’t meow before but make this bizarre URK-ing sound as they were trying to get whatever is was (usually a hairball) up. And yeah it would wake me from a dead sleep as well.

    Oh, so true, all of you, about the prelude to a hairball. Sometimes I get enough warning and put a paper towel down first. And when the dog and cats start munching on the plants on the porch I just know I’ll have something to look forward to….bless ‘em.
