Oh, get used to it. Life now is too stressful and too hard on the brain anyway.

I know where you’ve been… you’ve been buried in your new phone ignoring the rest of the world. Maybe there’s an app for getting involved in real life.

If Irving’s so worried about memory loss, maybe he could get a Nintendo DS and the Brain Age series of games.

Just a thought…something Irving doesn’t seem to do very often.

He’s been busy programming his new phone. He has nobody to talk to on it, but that didn’t stop him.

So yesterday senility hit Cathy, today it hit Irving (I say senility in jest), maybe they’ll forget they are in this boring marriage and move on to greener pastures and hotter men (for Cathy).

    mrslukeskywalker and Susan001,

LOL……your responses gave me a belly laugh, but come on guys, let’s not throw in the towel just yet, Cathy and Irving are too funny and self-absorbed to notice anything amiss in their relationship.

I know. He doesn’t do anything for her in any way, including going to work anymore. His parents moved themselves into in her house, and forced her to sell her stuff at a tag sale, and all she does is smile and roll her eyes. That’s why we’re convinced that she’s on multiple mood enhancing drugs that fall short of curbing OCD for her sudden shopping obsessions. Even Flo in Andy Capp gets mad at him, but Cathy never does. Elly takes it out on the kids, but never straightens John out.

Like I said before though, Cathy Guisewite does an excellent job of keeping up with all the details of the latest trends, and of using the complexities and absurdities of them to give Cathy a mental workout. All of our fads are fads that resurface from the past, over and over again, but if it weren’t for Cathy going through them, I wouldn’t even know all the details of the current choices out there, which is why the extremes Cathy experiences leave me saying “HOLY MACKERELS!” and laughing, but she keeps us up with the times that we sometimes fail to fully notice.

If Cathy and Irving refuse to act married and at least disagree every now and then, I wish they would at least have a little fun together, but they never do anything together, like join forces and kick his parents out. That’s why we say they are boring and should go their separate ways to liven this thing up again. Neither one of them even have any friends left.

Summer is coming. Cathy could always file for a quickie divorce on Legal Zoom.com and find a muscley new boy toy by June. You never know.

“Where have I been? What have I done? What’s going on?” In his own words, there’s Irving in a nutshell.
