Kids only pick up this “old = lame” attitude if you teach it to them, or if you let the culture teach it to them, which it seems determined to, lately. But if kids don’t know that they’re “not supposed” to like something that’s older than five minutes, chances are they’ll pick it up and like it just as much as they would have twenty years ago. That’s the way it’s always been.
Chris’ kids have really gotten to like the Beatles, and each has a couple of favorite Fabs songs. The girl, now a junior in high school, is also learning a lot of songs even older than the 60’s in her chorale.
