-Actually, wet feathers making flying difficult. If a rain is going to last for a long time here in Florida, we usually find birds hunkered down (like people do). Birds will try to take shelter in thicker foliage (large, tall hedges, or the thicker central parts of leafy trees that haven’t had ‘hurricane cuts’.-AND we often find birds taking shelter in the overhangs of large offices and retail stores. Sometimes they inadvertently fly into the buildings.
