I think your dedcution misses the point — not Canada, just a very old coffee mug, from the time when there was an ESSO down at the corner, and the attendant provided service (and gas was probably about 32.9 cents per gallon!
You know you are old if you remember when Esso changed to Exxon. It happened even before Lucky Charms added its 5th marshmallow shape (“new” blue diamonds).
