I never knew I was Poor until I joined the Navy (65-95). After several Tours of Duty in Underdevolped Countries, I came to realize that Poor is all Relative.
The people across the street from us have no furniture in their living and dining room, only toys. Lots of toys. And half of the family room is covered with toys too. The dining room has a table and chairs. Child size.
All for one 4 year old girl who goes to daycare 4 days a week. Yikes.
My kids had toys too. In their room. Not anywhere else in the house.
They grew up to be upstanding citizens, graduating from college and having fulfilling lives!
