Yes ripping up paper is destruction/messed up.
Maybe they shouldn’t try to work together on this type of project. OR, Ruthie could write the dialogue first, THEN Joe illustrate it. That seems to be a better method than their “drawing first, writing next.”
This is a lot like my older sister and me when we tried to write stories together.
