I’ve often wondered how it works when the child of a couple with hyphenated names grows up and gets married to someone else who has hyphenated names. Will they have two hyphenated names (four last names)?
Else Lancaster’s parents lived a long and monogamous life while refusing to marry, because the wife lost all her property to her husband. Boys took their father’s name, and girls their mother’s.

And the husband can hyphenate his too. So can the children females with the mother leads , boys its the father in their hyphenation.
