We had a blue garbage can with a can-sized hole cut in the lid in the breakroom where I worked. I asked the facilities manager If I could take a bag of cans home to my daughter whose Girl Scout troop was recycling them for cash.He agreed and I asked him where he normally recycled them. His answer: I just take the can out back and pour it in the trash dumpster. I just stuck the can in the breakroom to get the recycle nuts off my back.
Bill Maher made a joke about recycling. He said it’s one of those things where you can’t prove that they throw it in with the other garbage, but you know they do.
Yes and China loves to say ‘look how green we are’, but westerners who have lived in China for years say it’s all a front. Since we have little smelting industry in the states, I wonder, do the aluminum and steel actually get recycled? Best thing would be to phase out the use of plastics for drinking containers and go back to glass.
